The important thing is that you get to choose. I agree that's a fair and good question. As I live in Canada, there has been no reports on other nations receiving credit monitoring at this time. Sony actually offered this program first for the EU. It was only just confirmed to be available for the US with this most current press release. Now you have been properly informed as to what truly happened. And that us Americans were at a point where we were in the dark not knowing if we would get the same game offerings as the EU.
Not anyone else. What if you only have the original 40G hard drive. Will two of those titles even fit on it? I think I have 34G available. Anyone know? Sony have been very generous imo.
Thanks for the helpful info, Oner. I am in two minds about Sony. They are trying hard to compensate their customers and that is great although I do question their motives for doing so, read on , but on the other hand, Sony should have been better protected than they were.
A big factor that changes my disposition is the way they treated Geohot. Whether he was in the right or wrong is irrelavant. Sony still treated him unfairly IMO. Right now I am angry at Sony and I don't see this 'compensation scheme' as a way of compensating customers, but as a way of securing more money from their coffers in the future.
In my eyes, Sony truly are the thugs of the electronics world at the moment. And let me be the first to say I not the only one mad, so don't act like I am.
And no I don't give a rats edited about Portal 2 or the free games, I believe I said that already; however if you going to state something like we offering free games, at least make it something that people haven't already paid for.
That was Sony's onus to offer free games, not the public's demand; so why go stingy when your business is hanging on a thread? The majority of PSN users were expecting credit, not Sony chosen titles. I too am not alone on this, so stop making it look like I am the bad guy. I've said it more than once, governments, agencies, lawfirms and so forth all state sony is to take some of the responsibility.
A breech of this magnitude has never happened before because gee, let me think Yes it happens, but not on a grand scale of nearly ALL information taken. But then here at AD, people are ignorant. You want proof on F-Secure, fine, don't be an edited about it here it is: There are more than one source link too to find if you know how, but RIGHT, people are lazy, it's not about the ONUS falling on me, its about edited like you that want everyone to do everything for you.
Mikko is the head of F-Secure btw. You all may not like it, but don't bitch at me cause Sony has flawed Security still and i just being nice enough to point out as all you gamers remain in fantasy land you are safe on PSN. Read our policy.
