Why is the sims 2 so slow

My sims game is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow like I've tried everything , deleting some mods , deleteing some downloads , i've even re-install the whole game and the expansion packs i have , and the dcbackup or whatever i've done it all but it still slow. I don't work or have any association with EA.
