Should i disable norton toolbar

I want the Norton Confidential plugin removed from my Google Chrome, as well as any extensions or other plugins Norton feels I need to use. I do not want any Norton plugins or extensions installed on my web browser so I need to be told how to remove these. I have tried disabling internet protection and all of its sub-securities in Norton Internet Security, but that didn't work.

I've tried disabling the plugin but that didn't work. I've tried deleting the files for the plugins from my computer but they magically reinstall themselves without my consent. I have tried so many different ways to stop it installing itself but it just keeps doing it.

I want it removed because it keeps uninstalling MY exentions and installing it itself when I don't want it to, which I'm not even sure is legal - surely that makes it a virus or malware itself, since it's replicating itself and installing itself on my system. Please let me know how I can fix this issue ASAP before I get a real security company to block all Norton content on my computer since so far, it's only acting like a virus.

You will see all the installed extensions listed there. You can uncheck the Enable box to disable the extension and clicking the trashcan icon will remove the extension from Chrome.

Restart Chrome and it should be gone. I don't recommend doing this because you lose vital protection when the Norton extension is disabled or gone. You're much more likely to be a victim of fraudulent websites with this protection gone.

The part of your post I have highlighted in green, I don't see why that didn't work. Other Chrome users have disabled the extension by unchecking the Enabled box. Although I still don't recommend it, that has worked for them as far as the extension being disabled, while leaving them unprotected.

I couldn't tell from your post, but there is a trash can you can click. Right click the Norton icon at the upper right of the browser. Click Manage extensions. There is a trash can to the far right of Norton Identity Protection. When you hover over, it opens.

A tooltip pops up and says, Remove from Chrome. When clicked, I have no idea what happens. Maybe you will get a warning about removing the extension, I don't know.

Edjr60 - I tried removing it how you said the trash can but that didn't work either. I, too, have no idea what could be making it re-install itself. I appreciate your concern but it's causing more problems than anything and I've done well enough without it so far. Sorry could not have been of further help. Other Chrome users who have posted in these forums in the past, had success in either disabling or removing the extension.
