This can be modified with a dremel permanently. Overall Review: My case actually arrived damaged. There was a sizable gash on the box, I took a chance and opened it up and was disappointed to find two of the front bay 5. Luckily no other cosmetic damage to the chassis itself. I contacted Newegg to see if I could just get two of the front bay covers but they said they would only ship out a new one and require me to ship the whole thing back.
Rather than wait, they said I could contact Cooler Master directly to get the two covers shipped to me. I really appreciate Newegg's free shipping on heavy stuff like this and don't want them to discontinue the practice, so I agreed to contact CM directly. Called CM and the guy was really cool about it, asked for my email and shot me a link to submit a request for parts online.
Within a few days, the request was approved and the parts are en route to me now. Probably a UPS issue but I figure this way saves everyone some bucks on shipping. I wanted to do some extreme overclocking with the cpu, and gpu, and do it all with air.
With my extreme overclocks with stock fans in the case, and Phanteks on the cpu, my cpu runs at room temp during intensive computing. Everything fit perfectly, plenty of room. Didn't need the extension that came with the case, as my modular cables were plenty long enough. Overall Review: I really love the rugged design of this case. I see no faults with it. I must have watched or more case reviews before I decided to go with this case, couldn't be more pleased with it. Pros: This case has plenty of room.
The design is awesome. Plenty of fans but you should still add the extra m fan on top and came with extra screws for the optional fan.
The hot swap bay worked perfect. It came with wheels to keep the case off the carpet. Hot air can excape from the bottom also. Cons: Tooless is a joke. It's only on one side that the pins go in. I had to use screws on the other side. The internal bays are made of cheap plastic but it will do the job. The holes on the 9 expansion did not match up with my cards.
I guess quality control didn't pick it up I had to use small zip ties to hold it in place. The switch for the fan light is ONLY for the fan in front.
Pros: The case is very sleek and and looks great, The size of the full tower is awesome - lots of extra room. The design of this case makes cable management very easy, if the interior of your rig needs to look neat and tidy like i prefer this is a great case to go with. The hot swap bays for different drives is a nice feature it makes it very easy to swap out different drives. The built in fans work very well for keeping my components cool, even with a slight over clock.
Even though i dont need liquid cooling the feature is nice to have in case i would like to upgrade at sometime in the future. I would recommend this case to anyone. Cons: The fan filters are not all easily removed and cleaned, these collect dust very well but without the ability to remove the filters the rig looks visibly dusty after a while. Im not sure if this was a mistake in manufacturing or poor design but i really have an issue with is the USB ports on the front of the case, they are upside down.
Pros: Roomy case with tons of features. Even ones I can't find a use for. Most well-ventilated case I've ever seen. Optical drive bays have quick disconnect brackets so you can remove a DVD player by just pushing a button inside the case and it'll slide right out.
After you disconnect the power and SATA cable, of course. Also, the front screens, that cover unused 5. All in all, I love the features of the case. I have had to secure my Video Card and Sound Card with zip-ties. Overall Review: Aside from the one issue I noted, I couldn't be happier with it.
Pros: This case is a huge improvement over previous designs, and makes it apparent that CoolerMaster has taken user input into consideration. It has excellent air flow, and is easy to configure your flow how you like it. It has space for a large radiator on top, allowing a push-pull airflow that brings in ambient air from the front and across the HD bays, from the side across the GPUs, and up and out.
Comes with two hot-swappable 3. The 5. It does support XL-ATX, and has the mounting points for brass standoffs marked for different form factors. Cable management is pretty easy. Comes with castors, makes it easier to wheel about a hard surface floor. Large area for a power supply. I put in a Rosewill , and still had plenty of space. If you want to replace your fans, you risk losing your bling factor.
It's the front LED, which is probably the most visible, but if you want a one-button solution to go into stealth mode, you'll have to fiddle with it. The manual is poor. Written in China with very bad English, and the diagrams are junk.
Can be supplemented with Youtube videos, but for the price of the case a decent manual would be nice. With an all black interior and a full side panel window, it definitely looks like the case to get.
Both Editions have their own subtle differences compared to the original HAF Most notably on this Black Edition is that we have an all black interior. Another difference is a side window that covers the majority of the side panel, which also tosses out the option for the mm fan or multiple mm fans.
As with the previous HAF cases, Cooler Master included a one year limited warranty should anything go wrong in that time frame. That weirded me out when this arrived as I thought I had received the wrong case, but luckily the label was there to let me know it was indeed to correct case. As mentioned, the box literally is just of the original HAF with a label on the front. Here we see pictures of the original HAF Granted the label is sufficient; although I did get confused at first on whether this was the right one.
